Club Executive > Executive Team: 2010-2011
Julie Li - President
Thank you for visiting our Bizzcomm website! As the lucky President of 2010/
2011, I have the opportunity to meet you at hopefully the best ever events that Bizzcomm has ever organized! Looking forward to meeting you at our events, Bizzcomm team has worked hard this summer, with our executives planning events while they are far away in Europe, China, Kenya, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, and Hong Kong.
If you ever see me walking around campus, please don’t hesitate to approach me or talk to me in English, Chinese, or Japanese. I enjoy playing volleyball once a week at the Rec, and playing the piano on my spare time. I love meeting new people, people from all around the world — people like YOU!!!
Tony Liu - Executive VP
Hey there, my name is Tony and I am the Executive Vice President for Bizzcomm this year. My main duty is to assist the president in making executive decisions and plan for the club when the president is away. I also guide the other VPs in various tasks and in organizing the events. I guess you could say I'm an all rounder. ;) I am in my second year of commerce and I have a strong interest in the field of banking and finance. I enjoy watching the NBA and playing basketball in my spare time and I love meeting new people. So if you see me around campus, feel free to stop me and chat!
Krista Wong - VP Finance
Hello, my name is Krista, and I am VP Finance for Bizzcomm this year. I assume responsibility for all budgeting and financial reporting, and ultimately I have to make sure that our club can provide benefits to its members without running itself into the ground cash-wise. Although I am a second year Sauder student interested in marketing, I also love fiction - I write at a snail's pace, but a fun fact is that I can read at an average of a book a week. If you catch me on a break around campus I'd be happy to talk to you about Bizzcomm, books or university life in general, in that order. I'd discuss music with you as well, but my taste can sometimes be a little...eclectic.
Michael Tsui - Chief Operating Officer
Hi! My name is Michael Tsui and I am the Chief Operations Officer for Bizzcomm this year. My task revolves around working with our executive team to enhance your learning experience here at UBC.
I am currently a second year Sauder undergraduate, planning to finish my diploma with a major in Accounting. I come from Hong Kong and have recently begun joining the hockey frenzy (as of July 1st, 2010). I still have a lot of trouble memorizing all the names of each individual player, so bear with me if we ever do have a conversation about the Canadian sport!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding Bizzcomm's events or even if you're bored and simply want to chat!
Moses Gatonye - SpeakOut Coordinator
Hi!
My names are Moses Richu Gatonye, and I’m an international student from Kenya! I’m passionate about public speaking and debate and fascinated by how much talent there is in UBC! That’s why I feel extremely privileged this year to be responsible for coordinating Speak-Out; our public speaking competition. The best and brightest assemble to compete for the #1 Title, and we get to watch it all!
Aside from my fascination with public speaking, I am keen on learning Karate (however, I assure you, I am a very approachable individual and I’m extremely unlikely to break into fits of violence). Finally, as cliché as it may sound, I love meeting new people and would definitely love to get to know you!
Melody Binder - VP Administration
Hello everyone!! I'm Melody and I'm your VP Admin/Logistics this year! In order to have awesome events, there needs to be awesome locations, which is what I am basically responsible for. I'm also the one at executive meetings typing like a mad woman taking minutes. If you have any questions about what the BizzComm exec team talks about during meetings or where locations for events are feel free to ask me. A little bit about me... I'm going into 3rd year Accounting and Human Resources with a concentration in International business. I know it is a lot, but I do try to find free time. When I do, I take piano lessons, do Bikrams Yoga and I absolutely love doing the Grouse Grind. If anyone is interested, let me know!
Kathy Wong - VP Internal
Hi everyone! I’m your VP Internal for the 2010/2011 school year. Currently I am a second year BComm student at the Sauder School of Business and I love to dance on my spare time. I’m very excited with this new position as I get to frequently interact with the members of the club. It’s going to be a really interesting year as we have planned all sorts of events and conferences for the members and we have an amazing team of Execs.
As VP Internal, I get to interact most with the members and I’m therefore looking forward to all the comments and suggestions that I will be receiving to help further improve the club. I will constantly be updating the members about upcoming news through sending out emails and will bring members’ concerns to the rest of the Exec team. So if there’s any problems or concerns, please feel free to email me!

Ben Chen - VP Marketing (External)
Hey! I'm Ben Chen and I'm your VP of External Marketing this year. My job is to work with the Marketing team to create. As the only person not in the Faculty of Commerce (2nd year Science), my main job is to ensure word gets out to the non-Sauder students who are interested in going to Bizzcomm events. On the side I also do a bit of graphic designing and video-making so if anyone is interested in being part of the video or want to brush up on marketing skills just give a shout out! See you guys at the next event!
Vitor Cid - VP e-Strategist
Hey all!
As the VP e-Strategist for BizzComm, I am responsible for the best possible experience when using the club website, as well as providing to you important information about our club via Facebook, Twitter, e-Mail and other internet goodies.
Being responsible for such geeky things doesn't mean I am not a friendly, outgoing and helpful person though! If you see me around, don't hesitate to ask me a question or say hi!
I am always down for a tennis or badminton match, or even chess if that tickles your fancy. I am also involved with debating and hopefully, case competitions.
Siew Ying Ooi - Operating Assistant
Hi, my name is Siew Ying and I am your Operating Assistant this year. My duty is to assist our Chief Operating Officer with some of his tasks in order to enhance the performance of the club. Besides, I am responsible for the cooperation between Bizzcomm and the External team in organizing club events. I am an international student from Malaysia and I hope to meet more friends around UBC. I'd be more than happy to talk to you about Bizzcomm and to answer any of your questions about the club. I am willing to accept any good suggestions that can make Bizzcomm better. Hope to meet you soon! ;)
Breighton Ma - Internal Associate
Hi, I’m Breighton and I am excited to be the Internal Associate during my 2nd year of Sauder at UBC. I plan to major in Human Resources since I like to work with people. With that said, my duties include assisting all of my team members in potential ideas, as well as helping with taking meeting minutes and booking rooms. I am very excited to work with my exec members this year since we have lots of very fun and interactive events planned for you guys! Crystal Liang - External Associate

Felix Huang - Creative Director
Hey I'm Felix and I'm super stoked about being Bizzcomm's Creative Director and working with our extremely talented and uber good-looking team. Basically, I oversee Bizzcomm's marketing and advertising schemes and help come up with exciting ways to grow one of UBC's best clubs. Since you asked, I'm currently a second-year commerce student. I love playing volleyball and basketball(huge Lakers fan). I like sneakers and finding good songs before they become overplayed on the radio. Obviously I'm a really cool guy so don't be afraid to say hi to me!
